Theatre, Stage & Film

The Prince of Denmark is ravaged with grief as he seeks to avenge the death of his father in this classic Shakespearean tragedy presented by Icarus Theatre Collective at Bord Gáis Energy Theatre.

Prince Hamlet is desperate to reclaim his family’s divine rights after his father is murdered and usurped by a power-hungry pretender to the throne.

Musically daring, this production will make the most of the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre’s large stage with some soaring soundscaping and a very physical theatrical endeavour. Blending traditional and more modern modes, this particular edition of Hamlet is new, yet familiar.

Explore the themes of vengeance, masculinity, and the rule of law in this new retelling, which does not run scared from the darkest corners of the tale of Hamlet.
