The Gorgeous Mask Historical Walking Tour Of Dublin

  • Cloudy days
This tour aims to give a flavour of historical and contemporary Dublin through its built environment. It will trace its development from 9th Century Viking trading post to Medieval capital of English lordship in Ireland.

By the 18th Century, Dublin was the second city of the British Empire, and entered its "golden age" architecturally. A Wide Streets Commission, established in 1756, heralded the beginning of modern town planning.

While famous for its Georgian architecture (18th and early 19th Century) architecture, much of which remains intact, Dublin has accumulated a wealth of additional buildings in a variety of architectural styles, some truly excellent, some less so.
