Howth Yacht Club is a world class international sailing venue with a busy annual sailing schedule, which regularly hosts high level competitions including World, European, National and Regional Championships, along with the biennial WAVE Regatta, the club’s flagship event.

With a very active keelboat and dinghy racing fleets, Howth Yacht Club offers a wide range of training in sailing and water activities open to members and non members of all ages and skill levels. Throughout the year, courses include Learn To Sail programmes for keelboat and dinghy enthusiasts, Intro to Powerboating classes, and instructor led kayaking and paddleboarding sessions in the stunning scenario of Howth Peninsula and Ireland’s Eye.

Howth Yacht Club is also the home of the world's oldest one design racing keelboat class, Howth Seventeen Footer, a gaff rigged topsail boat designed by Walter Herbert Boyd in 1897 to be sailed in Ireland’s local waters. From April to November, residents and visitors to Howth can still marvel at the original five Howth 17’s boats that came to the harbour in the spring of 1898, which keep fiercely racing against the other boats of this historic class that have been built since. Howth Yacht Club has a 250 berth marina and 60 swinging moorings. Marina berths are a great base for visiting boats, and cruising sailors are always welcome to enjoy some shore time at the club’s lively bar and elegant restaurant.

Howth Yacht Club is on the pedestrian promenade of Howth Village, a thriving tourism location with direct public transport links to Dublin City centre and other nearby attractions in Fingal. Howth Yacht Club is also only a 20 minute drive from Dublin’s airport, conveniently located as an international venue for business meetings and conventions. The club organises and runs many sailing events and courses for members and visitors throughout the year and have very active keelboat and dinghy racing fleets.

Howth’s scenery, cliff side walking trails, wide variety of sea birds and mammals, and the overall well preserved natural environment contribute to the club’s unique atmosphere.
