Seán Keane was a member of The Chieftains for many years and regarded as a leading figure in the Irish fiddle playing tradition.

Originally from Drimnagh in Dublin, he lived in Rathcoole for many years. Seán passed away in May 2023. Liam O’Connor, Director of the Irish Traditional Music Archive, a fiddle player and family friend, discusses Seán’s life in music, his playing style and his musical legacy. Liam will present recorded examples of Seán’s playing with contributions from Seán’s family and friends.
