Percy French, Roscommon songwriter, poet, painter, entertainer, and author travelled the length and breadth of Ireland, capturing the quintessence of the characters he encountered along the way in poetry, song and story.

A gifted and prolific writer of comic songs, he was also capable of wringing heartfelt emotion from moments like Gortnamona and The Mountains of Mourne.
