About this event
Ta Tum Tum! is a workshop with live music designed for families to explore Brazilian culture in a creative, integrative and fun way! It also explores body awareness and different rhythms used in Brazilian music. The performance is interactive and allows children and adults to play real instruments from Brazil used in Samba.
Ta Tum Tum! is an onomatopoeia inspired by the sounds of drums and percussion. Brazilian rhythms have its roots in Africa and are one of the most recognisable rhythms in the world. Samba is enacted most spectacularly in the Brazilian Carnaval celebrations, which have captured the global imagination in its pulsating rhythms, its decadent revelry, and its extravagant exhibitionism.
