The National Symphony Chorus 'A Cappella'
Saturday, 29 June 2024
About this event
For this special performance in the intimate surroundings of Christ Church Cathedral, they will be exploring smaller scale music by composers well-known for their orchestral output: a selection of Anton Bruckner’s motets (themselves tiny symphonic compositions), Lili Boulanger’s wonderful and little-known music for choir and piano, two delightful and unusual pieces by French master Gabriel Fauré, and one of the great jewels of 20th Century Irish a cappella choir music, C.V. Stanford’s Magnificat for Double Choir.
National Symphony Chorus conducted by Chorus Director David Young
Accompanist: Fergal Caulfield
