About this event
This talk will delve into the creation of the Buddhist hanging within the Qing imperial court and will explore its relationship with painting. In addition to Buddhas of the Three Generations, other Buddhist hangings will be examined to provide context, and to illustrate their religious function and significance. Comparisons will be made between Buddhas of the Three Generations and similar examples preserved in Western collections.
This lecture is delivered in collaboration with Trinity College Dublin.
FREE, no booking required for onsite attendance (Neill Lecture Theatre, Trinity College Dublin).
