About this event
Women and the Making of Ulysses is part of the larger exhibition based in the Harry Ransom Center in Austin, Texas, curated by Dr. Clare Hutton of Loughborough University. The exhibition focuses on James Joyce’s professional relationships with various women who were instrumental in his development as an artist.
The exhibition has information and artefacts related to women such as Joyce’s patron Harriet Shaw Weaver, Sylvia Beach, the publisher of Ulysses, Margaret Anderson and Jane Heap, the publishers of The Little Review, Edith Rockefeller, Joyce’s one-time patron, and many more. Come explore the legacy of these fascinating and pioneering women.
