About this event

In the post-war period, Irish emigrants played a pivotal role in the reconstruction of Britain. This event features voices from notable speakers sharing first-hand experiences of working life during that period and the magnitude of their impact.

As part of their new exhibition, “Looking Back to Look Forward,” EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum is proud to host notable speakers who have lived experience of economic migration from Ireland to Britain.

Join them for a glimpse into the working lives of Irish emigrants who built Britain. This event includes a film screening of “Guests of Another Nation” and a panel discussion with:

Bartley Duggan: interviewee for the exhibit and former labourer working for Irish subcontractors.

Mick Lynch: General Secretary of the RMT transport union, born in London to Irish parents, appeared on the Late Late Show.

John Fleming: Director of “Guests of Another Nation,” musician, and author.
