Abair: Three Castles Burning: Journey Back to Monto

About this event
On the 100th anniversary of its closure, historian and podcaster Donal Fallon takes us on a journey back to The Monto, Dublin’s notorious former red light district which closed it doors in March 1925. Expect tales of madams, IRA safe houses and a range of characters from Michael Collins to James Joyce.
Contributors include Dr. Caroline West (author of Wrong Women: Selling Sex in Monto) and inner-city folklorist Terry Fagan, with poetry and music from Paula Meehan, Phelim Drew and Seán Fitzgerald (The Deadlians).
Readers are advised to check with the organiser before relying on the details published here.
